Baratha Natyam
Special performance of a dance of nine expressions (the traditional Bharath Natynam South Indian classical dance is
based on five elements) to express the trauma and emotions caused by the Tsunami. I invented the additional expressions of "Bhayankar",
or fear and shock, with the anger of the Goddess, the Kalika avatar, ending with the outcome of Peace or Shanthi. The dance begins with salutations,
joy, and love of God, liberty and nature. As the beautiful peacock searches for its food with fear, and then shows his joy at attaining it, the shock
and anger after the Tsunami leads to a conversation with God or the Creator, and finally there is the meeting of the "Light" or God and
Enlightenment, happiness, ecstasy, Shanthi.
