Ayurveda
···
There
are four books collectively called the Vedas or the "books
of Knowledge". Ayurveda or ayur+veda meaning the knowledge
of life is considered a sub-Veda, or the branch of knowledge
that is concerned with our physical health and happiness on
Earth and so it is very important to us. The modern Christian
view of
history places the first book of Vedic times, the Rig Veda,
at about 1500 B.C. Oral tradition states that the first of
the Vedas was composed about 40,000 years ago. Ayurveda has
very old roots, long before "recorded history".
All
over the world today people are searching for a natural system
of healing that is comprehensive and complete, that is not
some curious form of folk healing but a real and rational
system of medicine with links to nature and to the earth-
that is exactly what Ayurveda has to offer. It has a many
thousand year old clinical
tradition as a complete, natural method of treatment ranging
from diet, herbs, massage, life-style counseling and meditation.
It is a naturopathic system of health care that has survived
through modern medicine and preserves the wisdom of the sages
and the wisdom of the earth. It is a complete system of medicine
that recognizes the relation of mind and body, so spiritual
awareness, meditation and prayer are a part
of the healing process.
Yoga is a part of Ayurveda, especially Pranayama or pranic
healing which uses the breathing process and vital force of
the human body. Simple yogic exercises or asanas are part
of pranic healing and cleansing of the body of toxins is part
of the process. Cleansing or detoxifying is important in healing.
Without cleaning the
system it is impossible to go to the roots of diseases. The
ancient Greeks studied Ayurveda around 400 B.C. and they based
their system of medicine on this discovery. Therefore, modern
medical science from the art of anatomy to surgery is based
on Ayurveda, and Ayurveda can be considered the mother of
all forms of medicine.
To understand Ayurveda and its implications in our life and
health we must look at the spiritual roots from which it sprang
and from which it is inseparable. If a system presents itself
as different from these spiritual roots then it may be a system
of medicine, but it certainly is not Ayurveda as was realized
by the Creator
and whose tradition was passed on by the enlightened seers
or sages.
Consciousness is the source of all manifestation. Since consciousness
and energy are inseparable, the energy comes into contact
with the Lord or Light and becomes a part of the Light. Vasistha
who was a great master or sage and the founder of Ayurveda
says in his teaching that you are unlimited, unconditioned,
pure consciousness, without doing anything. It is the conditioning
of this fundamental truth that gives rise to the vasanas.
The vasanas, or latent impressions, are really a combination
of consciousness energy. The vasanas are the cause of unhappiness,
psychological disorders, rebirth and many other problems of
bad health.
The movement of prana or the life force is important to us.
Prana is the cosmic principle of the movement of energy, in
the form of vayu, vata, varat, shakti, prakruti, puruksha.
The most important thing to understand about Ayurveda is the
concept of the three humors, Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Modern
medicine has developed from an analytical point of view, and
believes that the whole be understood from its parts. Ayurveda
looks at each person as a whole, and treats disorders as a
total phenomenon of that whole. In Ayurveda we speak of tridosha,
which means the "three humors". The balance of these
three forces determines one constitution. Your personality,
as well as your body and mind are direct reflections of your
constitution. The combination of these tree pranic forces
creates you a unique individual.
Vata
people are the thinnest of the three humors. They tend to
have thin bones and a thin body. They tend to have dry skin
and hair; the main quality of Vata is dry. Vata people tend
to have poor stamina. People who are tall or short tend to
be Vata.
Pitta people are of average build, height, and weight. They
tend to be strong, with good stamina and endurance. Physically
speaking, Pitta people are hot-blooded. They are generally
the most balanced physically, and tend to have light colored
hair, fair skin, blue or green eyes. The main quality of Pitta
is HOT.
Kapha individuals often say that they are pitta. Kapha people
are HEAVY. It does not mean that they are fat. Kapha people
are big, but not fat or overweight. Kapha people are the strongest
physicallly, they have the best endurance and stamina. They
generally have brown or black hair. It tends to be slightly
oily, has good luster. They have nice skin and pale complexion.
They are strong and when motivated they work hard and steadily.
Vata is a combination of the elements ether and air. They
are anxious, nervous, fearful and indecisive. They feel pain
and are nervous, and are bound to be pessimistic and very
sad. They can be hyperactive.
Pita consists of the element Fire. People of this humor are
very sensitive to heat. They are hungry and thirsty and are
short-tempered. They tend to have problems with digestion,
acidity, skin problems. They are more optimistic, with a more
balanced personality.
Kapha is a combination of the element water and earth. They
are active, eat well and talk very slowly. They are self-confident,
eat a lot and drink little. They have problems with respiration
and tend to be obese. They are happy people, humble and patient
compared to Vata and Pitta.
An Ayurvedic doctor diagnoses disease by observing the nadi
or pulse, by looking at the shape, colour and texture of the
tongue, by seeing the complexion, colour of eyes and hair,
the texture of the skin and other personality traits.
Food and drink are the most important medicines for the body
because they are the most frequently ingested substances in
the body. What you drink ultimately turns into prana and what
you eat ultimately turns into ojas. Ojas is the basis of your
reproductive fluids and that of the immune system. Ayurveda
states that food is far easier to digest when lightly cooked.
Good nutrition in the Caraka Samhita is eating the right kind
of food, with the right beverage, eating the right amount
of food, at the right time, with the right frame of mind in
the right place. The yogis and sages believed that people
live far longer when they eat smaller quantities of food.
Vata contributes to movement, Kapha to lubrication and the
Pitha humour controls our ability to digest. The excessive
and continual use of heavy fatty foods, junk foods, cold food
and drinks, raw food or raw fish is bad for the digestive
systems and is the cause of diseases.
Vata should eat with regularity and drink milk, infusions
and herbs. They should avoid dry fruits, apples, melons and
eat plenty of sweet fruits, avocado, plaintains, whole rice
and vegetables.
Pitha should take food slowly and can eat lots of fruits and
vegetables, They should avoid heavy food, oily food fruits
that are acid and drink plenty of water, fresh fruit juice
and tea.
Kapha should eat bitter food,s more bland ,and hot or boiled
vegetables. They should never take excess food and never eat
in between meals. They should drink a lot of water and fresh
fruit juices and never cold drinks.

Breathing
exercises
···
Simple
exercises that can be done in 10 minutes. It will boost you
and make you feel younger and full of vitality.
These
exercises concentrate on breathing properly and distributing
oxygen through out the body and help the circulation. Most
of the diseases are caused due to wrong breathing and most
of you in the Western world have short breaths. These exercises
will boost you and improve your life. Try to choose a room
which is well ventilated and the floor should have a cotton
bed sheet. Wear comfortable loose cloths. Always in bare foot,
to allow the feet the relax and to help the circulation better.
COMPLETE
BREATHING (Standing position)
When practising
this technique in a standing position the arms can also be
brought into use.
Stand
erect with arms down by your side.
Inhale
steadily by firstly extending the abdomen and at the same
time begin to raise the arms towards an extended position
above the head.
Continue
inhaling, expanding the chest and pushing out the lower ribs
and at the same time continuing to raise the arms are fully
extended above the head, palms touching.
Having
fully inhaled the breath should be retained for a few seconds
keeping the arms extended above the head.
Exhalation
should be done slowly following the complete breath exhalation
sequence and incorporating the downward movement of the arms
so that, when the breath is fully exhaled, the arms have returned
to the position at the sides of the body.
Do the
breathing very calmly and never hold the breath too long to
cause discomfort. Do it in a relaxed way.
HEALING
BREATH (Directing the life force)
Lie on
the floor in a comfortable position.
Place
your hands over your solar plexus so that the finger tips
of each hand are touching each other slightly above the navel.
The palms of the hands should be flat against the body, elbows
resting on the floor.
Begin
to breathe naturally and gently and feel the build up of energy
in your finger tips and palms. Visualize it as a bright light.
Decide
where, in the body, you wish to direct this healing light
of energy or prana such as an area of pain or tension.
After
the inhalation transfer the hands to the chosen area of the
body and exhale gently visualizing the healing light entering
the body at that place and filling it with energy. After thoroughly
exhaling return your hands to the solar plexus and repeat
10 to 15 times.
Mixing
the Cosmic and Earth energy.
This technique
is done in a standing position the arms are used.
Stand
erect with arms down by the side. Inhale steadily by taking
a deep breathing from the abdomen and at the same time begin
to raise the arms sideways and upwards.
Now imagine
receiving the cosmic energy from above the head and at the
same time inhalation goes on and arms now are moving down
the body and leave the energy in the earth, touch the ground
with the open arms and again take back the earth energy, pass
the whole body and leave the energy above the head, that is
to mix the earth energy with the body force and leave it with
the cosmic energy.
Take a
deep breathing and feel the lungs filled with the fresh air
and arms are fully extended above the head, palms touching.
Having fully inhaled the breath should be retained for a few
seconds keeping the arms extended above the head.
Bring
it to normal position, down by your sides. Repeat five times
and see the difference.

MA´ s
salts ···
SPECIAL
USES OF MA's HEALING SALTS:
Everyone
asks about the formula of special minerals that I have used
in MA's Healing Salts, and what is its use for a healthy person.
Yes! This is a good question. These salts also detoxify.
They can
be used in the following ways:
1. Squeeze
half a lime, mix the juice with half a glass of water and
add a pinch of salts. This mixture, if taken in the early
morning on an empty stomach, keeps the stomach free from gases
and detoxifies.
2. If
the same mixture is taken with hot or luke-warm water, it
also helps to reduce fat and is good for bestity.
3. Every
day before you go to bed, have a glass of warm water with
a tablesppon of MA's Healing salts, gargle for a minute and
spit it out. You will find that your mouth tastes better,
it is good for the throat and teeth.
4. If
you have a throat infection, you can gargle with a tablespoon
of MA's Healing salt and 1 Tablespoon of Thyme, boil Thyme
for 5 minutes and add MA' s Salts and with a glass of warm
water gargle every 3 hours, and within 24 hours you will feel
better. But take warm water and take hot soup with a little
lemon juice and with MA's Healing satls.
5. If
you have to go out for dinner and you find your teeth dull
and that your mouth smells, wash your toothbrush with hot
water and apply a pinch of Sodium Bicarbonate and apply MA's
Healing salts to the tooth brush and brush your tooth with
this mixture. Leave it for two minutes. It is a good trick,
your teeth look sparkling white or in the worst cases, much
better and brighter. Try it.
6. If
you have a lot of people around you and feel tired, enter
the bathroom. Hold MA's Healing salts in the center of the
palm where your twocharkas are situated. Leave for two minutes
and then wash your hands. You
will feel that that palms are charged with a new energy and
you will feel rejuvenated. The center of the palms receive
energy and whenever you are surrounded with people for discussions,
talking or therapies, they absorb the energy and you can feel
empty or blank. The combination of this point with MA's Healing
Salts makes an alchemical reaction.
7. If
you work as a therapist, massagist hairdresser artist etc.,
soak your hands in two bowls of water with a tablespoon of
MA's Healing Salts and after three minutes you will feel better.
It will take away stress and your
de-energized hands will be charges again, you will not get
any infections and the emotional blocks of other people are
removed. You have to do this after every session, and if it
is not possible to leave for three minutes, you wash the hands
with Ma's Healings Salts instead of soap. It has the same
effect.
8. If
you are blocked for a while or your mind is blank, hold a
pinch of MA' s Healing Salts between your thumb and index
finger and touch the third eye area or the sixth chankra,
counting silently backwards 5,4,3,2,1. There you are. Do not
forget your breathing- breathe deeply and slowly.
9. At
home after work, prepare a bucket of warm water with one tablespoon
of MA's Healing Salts and 5 drops of Peppermint essential
oil. Soak your feet, wit down, relax and concentrate on deep
breathing, allowing all the stress and tension of the day
to be washed away. After ten minutes, you will feel better
and your pain will be relieved. Go out on the balcony and
breathe deeply, throwing away all the negative energies. Inhale
all the positive energy and exhale anger, negative energy,
fury etc.
10. When
it is time to bathe, if you can take a tub bath, never forget
to add a tablespoon of MA's Healing Salts, relaxing for 15
minutes and concentrating on each chakra. You will find the
bath refreshing and relaxing. If you cannot take a tub bath,
apply a paste of MA's Healing Salts mixed with water in each
chakra, and take a shower. Apply warm water for two minutes
and cold water for three minutes, giving yourself a hydro-massage
in each chakra. You will feel revitalized and rejuvenated.
11. If
you find your house with problems, hurdles, obstacles, things
break and some negativity is disturbing you, your family or
space, so take 4 blue crystal bowls and fill it with water-
half of the bowl with water, add 1
tablespoon of MA's Healing Salts and 1 Tablespoon of Apple
Vinegar and leave it in four corners, North, South, East and
West. If you find the dirt on the top throw it in the bathroom
wash and repeat. Do it for sometime until it becomes transparent
crystals and normal. It will help you and your children to
keep healthy, joyful and with energy. Try it.
12. If
you suffer from Insomnia, you must drink hot milk in the night
before you go to bed. Keep water in a bowl with MA's Healing
Salts, 1 Teaspoon of MA's Salts and 5 drops of lavender. You
can apply few drops of Lavender on the nostrils and in front.
13. Here
are few tips for offices and houses. To keep atmosphere clean,
you can keep a glass of water with a Spoonful of MA's Healing
Salts. In the entrance and later at the end of the day throw
it out. It will absorb the
concentrated energies.
14. Just
keep MA's Healing Salts in your handbag, in the car or while
travelling and if you feel the negative energies, just touch
dry and feel all the tiredness, tension releasing and throw
it.
15. When
preparing salads, soups, sandwich etc you can replace normal
common salt to MA's Healing Salts. To avoid all the secondary
effects of common slats and MA's Healing Salts is safer. TRY
